Arsenal’s Hunt for Goals: The Viktor Gyokeres Story

Dubbed a player who never scores goals, much had been written on a new number nine, Viktor Gyokeres. This young man has been doing his best to earn a good profile with his goals in Portugal, for Sporting CP. So here goes: why and what could Arsenal want of Gyokeres?

Who Is Viktor Gyokeres?

Gyokeres is a Swedish international who plays as a striker. This is a potent and quick guy who has the knack of finding the net; you envision some big man running to the goal and smashing into it with every chance coming his way. Gyokeres is a proven goal scorer and exactly the kind of player Arsenal needs to start winning more matches. However, his mode of play is very distinct from that of many of the present-day forwards at Arsenal. That very kind of tactical diversity would give the team huge chances to gain a very hard-to-defend reputation.

Why Would Arsenal Want Viktor Gyokeres?

Arsenal always tries to maintain a position at the very top. To achieve that, they need players to score regularly, and Viktor Gyokeres is one such player. Arsenal, though, already has some good talent in the final third, and a player like Gyokeres would take them to another level.

While attacking, he stresses the defenders. He will muscle his way through the most experienced defenders and run away from them to create chances for himself and others.

What Gyokeres Would Bring to Arsenal

Viktor Gyokeres, if DJ for Arsenal, would bring a whole lot of things into his arsenal, the finest being that of an unmitigated goal threat. He can hold the play to allow his fellow forwards time to join in the attack much-needed quality in both the build-up of plays as well as in creating chances. He also works hard, running down opposing defenders and defending: what more does one want from a forward nowadays? Gyokeres can operate either as a lone striker or with another partner up front, giving the coach some tactical flexibility.

Proposed Terms

It is said that Arsenal approached Sporting CP for the signing of Viktor Gyokeres, suggesting that the two clubs are in transfer talks. A transfer deal is basically the two clubs coming to an agreement over a transfer fee-i.e., the amount of money Arsenal would pay should the deal go through-and agreeing personal terms with the player. In usual cases, the processing of such deals could take some time as there are plenty of things to agree upon.

Opposite View

Given the game, I do believe that Gyokeres would be an excellent signing for Arsenal. He would have the opportunity to be in the front ranks in the Premier League. Performance-wise, he has proven to be a goal-scorer; performance-wise, he has also demonstrated that he is physically strong. That would fit well with Arsenal; well, in football, there are no guarantees; I am just hoping that he would be able to put his mark on the game.

Conclusion

In the middle of the signing of Viktor Gyokeres would be an excellent signing for Arsenal. He would have the opportunity to be in the front ranks in the Premier League. Performance-wise, he has proven to be a goal-scorer; performance-wise, he has also demonstrated that he is physically strong. Let’s join our hands together and hope for the best for this great player and club.
