The Reds have reportedly been considering signing him. That may come just in time, because their other goal star Mohamed Salah has lost his latest rhythm.

Antoine Semenyo has been making waves at Bournemouth. In the current 2025-26 Premier League campaign, he has already registered six goals and three assists in eight league matches. That is some sort of start and tells us that he is really on the fittest of forms. He has also come out and told us how staying injury-free has enabled him to cherish his game and improve his level of performance.
Tactically, Semenyo offers something extra beyond goals. He is content to drop deep behind the lines, creating astute runs in behind the defence and also offering defensive and pressing duty. Thus, his style can offer something different for Liverpool.
In addition to this, his value is rising phenomenally quickly. It’s said that Bournemouth could place a value on him of around ~ยฃ70โ75 million depending on his form and interest from clubs at the top level. Why the potential link makes sense
So putting them together: Liverpool would view Semenyo as an apt signing for a variety of reasons. Without Salah being the same level of player, he used to be, having a prime-time striker alongside him could bring some extra firepower and ease some of the pressure off of Salah. Semenyo’s movement, goal scoring, and versatility might also bring some new attacking options to the Reds.
At the same time, Liverpool can recognize that Salah is worldโclass but perhaps not in the elite division. Signing a player like Semenyo can enable the club to plan and build their frontline. For example: as target man or support forward with having the experience and talent of Salah to complement it.
What to watch?
If Liverpool do sign Semenyo, there are a number of things that matter:
Can Semenyo handle the ferocity and demands of Liverpool’s style, particularly in high-stakes games?
Will cost be rewarded by performance and fit? Bournemouth’s asking price indicates that they’re not selling him cheaply.
On the Reds heaping, will Salah regain the edge which rated him as among the world’s best players? If so, the side would be the richer for having two world-class centre-forwards rather than over the shoulder of one.
How the club will manage transitions and team dynamics (new players, tactics, roles) so that introducing new talent does not destabilize what works now?
