Marcus Rashford is the second big name. The England star is on loan at Barcelona and doing well there. Romano says there is already an “agreement done between Rashford and Barcelona for a permanent transfer”. Barcelona have a €30m buy option in the loan deal.

Romano added: “It now depends on Barca and Man United… Man United are very clear: €30m or nothing, so they are hopeful to receive €30m from Rashford.” Adding the two sales together gives exactly the €80m United are banking on.

He told supporters that United are “optimistic to get up to €80m total package from Højlund and Rashford permanent exits in June”.
