How to have macronutrients throughout the day to keep yourself healthy

In our daily meals, we all have a great balance of macro and micronutrients that we need throughout the day to keep us healthy and fit. However, before we have our meals, we must have it all planned out beforehand.

Macronutrients are one of the most essential components in our everyday diet but many people skip out on them. However, it is not a healthy practice to do so.

Says nutritionist Karishma Shah on how to incorporate macronutrients into our diet,

Start with planning your meals, sprinkle in some lean proteins, choose fiber-rich carbs, cook with healthy fats, and remember, smart snacking is key!

Some ways of incorporating more macronutrients into your diet

Let’s take a look at how our major food groups can be well incorporated into our everyday diet.

Choose only healthy fats for your cooking and salad dressings

When it comes to your salads and cooking medium, make sure you choose only healthy cooking oils such as olive oil which is considered very good for the heart. For your salads, you can always choose avocados, nuts, etc. as these are infused with essential fatty acids and also help in absorbing fat-soluble vitamins.

Ensure you have enough lean proteins in your diet

If you want to have a good amount of proteins in your everyday diet, it will be useful to have legumes of all kinds and tofu which helps to distribute protein evenly in the body. Proteins will also aid in repairing muscles and keep you full for the rest of the day.

Eat carbs that have high fiber content

Opt for whole grains, fruits, and vegetables in your diet to get a good source of energy rather than eating processed food. When we have healthy carbohydrates, it helps to stabilize blood sugar as well.

Always have your meals pre-planned

Before you have your final meal, it is always a good practice to have it pre-planned. Choose which foods you want to eat in your meal and ensure that it has all three major food groups such as carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Also, have a meal planner app installed on your phone which will help you to include all the macronutrients.

Having smart snacks is key

In between meals, try to have snacks such as Greek yogurt with strawberries or apple slices with almond butter. This will help keep your macronutrient levels up.

So, this is how we can incorporate macronutrients into our everyday diet which can be healthy for our body and mind. Therefore, ensure that you never give up on your macronutrients in any way.
